Neo-Nazi Kai Dalek, a former informant of the Bavarian domestic intelligence agency, was a highly active and leading Nazi cadre in the 1990s. He lived for a time in Upper Franconia. His mobile number and name appeared on Uwe Mundlos's so-called garage list as a contact person in the Franconian region ("Kai D."). In the 1990s, he occasionally took part in the Wednesday meetings of the "Thüringer Heimatschutz" (THS). Among other activities, Dalek was involved in the "Gesinnungsgemeinschaft der Neuen Front" (GdNF), which was at times regarded as a coordinating and leading neo-Nazi structure. The informant was active in building up the neo-Nazi Thule network and was engaged in the militant Anti-Antifa structures of the far-right scene at the time. He was also involved in preparing the Rudolf Hess marches. Between the 1990s and the early 2000s, Dalek and other neo-Nazis were investigated three times on suspicion of forming a criminal organization. These proceedings, like various other investigations against Dalek, were discontinued — in one case with reference to his work as an informant. The neo-Nazi and informant of the Bavarian domestic intelligence agency, at least at times financed by the state, overall acted more like an undercover investigator.
