+Am 12.2.1995 beabsichtigte die „Interessengemeinschaft Thüringer Heimatschutz“ in der Jenaer Innenstadt eine Demonstration mit bis zu 250 Teilnehmern zu veranstalten. Sie sollte über den Altstadtring vom Johannisplatz über den Lutherplatz zum Holzmarkt (Foto) führen. Das Motto: „Bewahrung Thüringer Identität gegen Internationalisierung durch die Europäische Gemeinschaft“. Die Anmeldung beim Ordnungsamt hatte Beate Zschäpe am 2.2.1995 überbracht. Die Stadt lehnte den Antrag mit der Begründung ab, es habe sich eine Übereinstimmung mit einer Antragstellung von 1994 anlässlich des Jahrestages der „Reichskristallnacht“ gezeigt. 14 Tage zuvor hatte Tino Brandt vom Landesamt für Verfassungsschutz Thüringen den Decknamen „Otto“ erhalten. Bis heute ist der Holzmarkt Schauplatz von Kundgebungen und Demonstrationen.

+On 12 February 1995, the "Interessengemeinschaft Thüringer Heimatschutz" intended to hold a demonstration with up to 250 participants in Jena's city centre. It was planned to run along the Altstadtring from Johannisplatz via Lutherplatz to Holzmarkt (photo). The motto: "Preserving Thuringian identity against internationalization through the European Community." Beate Zschäpe had submitted the registration to the public order office on 2 February 1995. The city rejected the application on the grounds that it coincided with an application from 1994 marking the anniversary of the "Reichskristallnacht" (Night of Broken Glass). Fourteen days earlier, Tino Brandt had been given the cover name "Otto" by the Thuringian Office for the Protection of the Constitution. To this day, Holzmarkt remains a site of rallies and demonstrations.
